The Corps of Discovery
Welcome Center is located 20 miles from Wynot on Highway 81. The
center provides visitor information, restrooms and coffee. The staff
furnishes interpretive information on area farming, Lewis and Clark,
pioneer history, and Native American Culture.

- Wiseman Monument located East of Wynot.
|
|
|
- Missouri River located North of Wynot.
|
|
|
- Gavins Point Dam & Recreation Area
is 25 miles Northwest of Wynot.

|
|
- Shannon Trail Promoters - The Wynot
Area (Bow Valley, St. Helena, St. James and Wynot) is one of 12
communities celebrating the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark
Expedition. Look for Shannon Trail T-Shirts and Statues of Private
Shannon.

- Brooky Bottom Park is located on the
Missouri River (North of the Wiseman Monument) and is a county-owned
park and boat dock. Overnight camping, picnic spots, and a gazebo are
available for the public to use.

|
- Historic Monument - A historic
monument North of Wynot, marks the location of the first school
district, formed in 1872, in Cedar County Nebraska. It was built in
1930 by the Wynot Home Culture Club, but the building burned.

- Ponca State Park is 26 miles East of
Wynot. Ponca is also located on the Scenic Byway 12.
|
|
|
- Niobrara State Park is 44 miles West
of Wynot.
|
|
|
- Historic Cemeteries are scattered
across the region with very old markers, ornate gates and fencing. The
Wynot Public Cemetery was laid out in 1874 and includes the graves of
the 5 Wiseman children who were massacred in 1863 and the graves of 57
soldiers (30 of these being Civil War Soldiers), which is more than
any other cemetery in the area.
